As the 2024 season comes to a close, the Narre South Saints U14 Boys team has much to celebrate, most notably their triumphant victory in the AFLSE Rookie Me Regional Grand Final. A key factor in their success has been the incredible depth of talent across the team, particularly in their goal-kicking department. With ten standout players making their mark on the scoreboard, it's no wonder this powerhouse team was so difficult to stop.
Top 10 Leading Goal Kickers for 2024:
1. Tyler Sorenson - 48 goals
2. Zac Ebeyer - 39 goals
3. Hunter Matin - 29 goals
4. Koby Brennan - 28 goals
5. Ari Pearson - 23 goals
6. Griffin McDonald - 18 goals
7. Tomas Ballard - 15 goals
8. Jack Singh - 15 goals
9. Declan Ebeyer - 13 goals
10. Jack Allen - 12 goals
This remarkable spread of talent is a testament to the team’s depth and versatility. With so many players contributing consistently, the Saints were able to keep their opponents on their toes all season long. Whether it was Tyler Sorenson’s sharp shooting with a season-high 48 goals or the reliable efforts of players like Zac Ebeyer and Hunter Matin, the team had an array of scoring options that made them nearly unstoppable.
The ability to spread the scoring load across multiple players proved to be a critical advantage for the Saints. Opposing teams found it nearly impossible to focus on just one or two players, knowing full well that others were equally capable of stepping up and delivering when it mattered most. This diverse offensive strategy not only kept the scoreboard ticking but also fostered a sense of unity and teamwork that ultimately carried them to grand final glory.
In addition to the team’s success, individual accolades were also earned, most notably by Tyler Sorenson, who had a phenomenal year. Tyler was named the 2024 Best & Fairest for the U14 Navy and also took home the title of 2024 Leading Goal Kicker for the same division. His outstanding performances throughout the season earned him the prestigious Lindsy Patching Medal for Most Votes overall by an SEJ Male with 33 votes—a truly mammoth achievement.
Tyler’s incredible accomplishments are a reflection of his hard work, dedication, and passion for the game. Congratulations to Tyler and the entire Narre South Saints U14 team on these outstanding achievements. This has been a season to remember, and we’re immensely proud of what our players have accomplished both individually and as a team.
As we look back on this incredible year, it’s clear that the future is bright for these young footballers. With a roster full of goal-kicking talent and a championship mindset, the Saints are well-positioned to continue their winning ways in the seasons to come. Congratulations again to the Narre South Saints U14 team on an outstanding 2024 season!
